Fitness day - beep test!
On Tuesday, it was fitness day and we did the beep test. I got to level 8! I felt like I did okay, but it was not my very best. I usually get a level 7 and 8 and I always strive to achieve a higher level. I could have done better but after a long weekend I was not feeling motivated to reach my highest. Although, I should have still tried to reach my goal and now I want to do a re-do of the beep test. Fitness is very important and the beep test is one of those types of fitness activity that you really want to do your very, very best! I hope on Friday's fitness day I reach my goal to get a level 9 or 10! MOTIVATION AND DETERMINATION IS THE KEY WOOHOO! YAY GET FIT!

Aqua Fit @ YMCA!
Today, we went to do aqua fit at YMCA. I had a lot of fun! It's interesting and new to me and I did not realize how much hard work you do. It's just like lifting weights but you're in the water doing exercises instead! I also hope to come back during the summer! YAY AQUA FIT! :D

Zumba!
Today, we went to Woo Kim to do Zumba! I HAD SO MUCH FUN!!! :D Dancing is one of my favorite ways to get fit and I just had a blast as we did different types of dance like bhanghra, salsa, and hip-hop. And when the lights in the room were off and the disco ball was there, it really pumped my mood up! It was awesomeee! It felt like a party! I am already thinking of doing some Zumba classes at Woo Kim over the summer with my mom and sister! YAY GET FIT YAY ZUMBA!

Field Trips!
I have not blogged about our past field trips so here it is!
Woo Kim Surrey (Tae Kwon Do): I enjoyed Tae Kwon Do a lot! It was a new experience that I liked and it opened me up to new possibilities in doing different ways of fitness. We kicked and punched (I liked the punching part the most :P) and the atmosphere was really nice. I really did feel like I was working to train for a black belt. I hope to come back and try it again!
Newton Arena - Ice Skating: Ice skating was fun! It reminded me a lot of elementary school because we would always go skating so it was not the first time I had done it. It is a good activity to do during winter time too. I wish we had enough time to skate though!
Panorama School of Dance: I had a blast when we did dance! I am a member of the Junior Hip-Hop dance team at our school so dancing is a favorite type of fitness that I like to do. Not only is it good for fitness, but I have a lot of fun doing it! In the Panorama School of Dance, we did contemporary, lyrical, jazz type of dance. I had never done this type of dance and I found it difficult but enjoyable overall. We managed to finish a lot of the dance routine and did cool poses! :P
Fencing: I only attended one session of the fencing classes because I was away on a trip to Edmonton. Although, I was fascinated with the concept of it. We wore masks and body armor and had pointy swords! :D I wish I had been there to attend the other two classes! Fencing is also another activity that I have taken interest in doing.
Buddy Fitness: Working with the grade 1s was so much fun! My job was to travel with the groups of kids. What was difficult was trying to get the kids to pay attention. What we did to improve this was to let them follow our example. Overall, the kids were participating a lot and were really enjoying the games and activities! I think we can improve on having more games. Because when they were in one station and the game they played was over, they would get off task and distracted, so if we provide them with different versions of the game, they would be constantly focused with the game! I was really confident in working with the grade 1s because I had done numerous volunteering experiences where I worked with younger kids. I think I showed leadership when I would try to get their attention, to listen to the person who was leading the game station.

Midterm Reflection
So far, I believe I have progressed a lot since I last blogged about my progress.
Participation: Fitness days are always my best days. Fitness days are the days when the teachers give us a workout that we can chose to improve on and I think I have done a lot to improve my endurance. During the fitness days I do not stop and constantly participate. Sometimes, my peers would stand in the way of doing my best but I motivate myself and them to try and participate their very best. Healthy living is really important in life and that is what I think that motivates me everyday to do my very best.
Field Trips: I have enjoyed all of the field trips we have done in the past few months. But if I had to chose it would be Tae Kwon Do and Snowshoeing. I enjoyed those two a lot because they were both new experiences that I had a lot of fun on. I wish to try them again!
Fitness: I have seen lots of improvements on my running and endurance. On the beep test we did last week, I reached level 8! I would usually stop at level 6 or 7 but I motivated myself. I really want to improve on my running, endurance, and flexibility.
Important Moments: I think that just being a part of Get Fit is a really defining moment. Every day I am really proud of all the work I do and everyday I am proud and confident of myself. I am always satisfied and feel good after the end of each class. And the most important thing is, I am having fun! Get Fit not only made me realize the importance of healthy living, but taught me how to maintain my active life.
I think that I deserve an A (90%) for my progress in Get Fit. :)

Interim Report
So far in this semester, I believe that I have done well. I have been pushing myself to do better for each class, I am consistently making goals, and I have slowly started doing fitness activities outside of school. This class has so far made me achieve some of my goals and learn new ways to achieve healthy living. I have improved in my endurance and flexibility and I have taken more time each week to do fitness outside of school. I also take note of the activities we do so I would be able to apply them in my healthy living plan. Our fitness days are good examples that I use. My work habits are good. I always bring my P.E strip, I behave and respect my teacher and peers, and I also try my very best in the activities we do. Now, I hope to continue my goals and to achieve them! Overall, I think I deserve a G mark for my interim report. YAY GET FIT! :)
Snowshoeing at Mount Seymour!
Yesterday, we went snowshoeing at Mount Seymour! It was a very fun experience! We went snowshoeing for at least 2 hours. We went up and down many hills and did a couple of exercises along the way. In the end, we played a game that involved a duck toy. I was very tired when we finished but I believe it was very fun. It's hard to look for fun activities to do during winter and snowshoeing is a winter activity that I greatly enjoyed! The scenery was very nice and calming and to walk around in a quiet place was very soothing. I hope to come back in the future! YAY SNOWSHOEING YAY GET FIT! :)
